Woburn-based organization ranked first in charitable giving for third consecutive year The Cummings organization, made up of commercial real estate firm Cummings Properties and its affiliate Cummings Foundation, was named the Commonwealth’s “Top Charitable Contributor” at Boston Business Journal’s Corporate Citizenship Awards. This is the third year in a row the Woburn-based organization has achieved the No. 1 ranking. During a September 6 event at Fenway Park, 100 companies were recognized for their giving to Massachusetts charities during calendar year 2017. The corporations’ total donations ranged from $106,340 to Cummings’ total of $34.5 million. Cummings Foundation Awards Grants of $100,000 Each to 100 Local Non-Profits at $100K for 100

Cummings Foundation announced grants of $100,000 each to 100 local non-profits through its $100K for 100 program earlier this month. The winners were chosen from a record-setting 597 applicants during a competitive review process. Representatives from the nonprofits joined Foundation staff, trustees, and volunteer Grant Selection Committee members, as well as founders Joyce and Bill Cummings, at a reception at TradeCenter 128 in Woburn celebrating the $10 million infusion into Greater Boston’s nonprofit sector. Cummings Foundation “Sustains” 33 Local Nonprofits with $10 Million in Grants

Dozens of local nonprofit organizations received news this week that likely made not just their day, but their decade. Woburn-based Cummings Foundation awarded a total of $10 million to 30 Greater Boston charities through its new Sustaining Grants program, which provides funding for up to 10 years. Each organization will receive annual installments of between $20,000 and $50,000.   The Sustaining Grants program builds on Cummings Foundation’s $100K for 100 program. First offered in 2012, $100K for 100 annually awards $10 million through multi-year grants of $100,000 each to 100 nonprofits that are based in and primarily serve Essex, Middlesex, and Suffolk counties.
