Laurus Synthesis opens first U.S. location with Cummings Properties

12_cabot_editLaurus Synthesis Inc., a division of Laurus Labs, one of India’s top 10 chemistry providers, will open its first United States facility at Cummings Properties’ 12 Cabot Road, Woburn location in March. The 11,000-square foot site is a 70/30 split of laboratory and office space.

According to Laurus Synthesis Vice President of Operations Kevin Duffield, location and cost were key factors in the decision to locate in Woburn, a suburb about 10 miles north of Cambridge and downtown Boston at the interchange of I-93 and I-95 (Route 128).

“We want to be near Cambridge with its large pharmaceutical development community,” said Duffield. (More)

Top-secret location for ‘Top Chef’ is revealed

Turns out that “Top Chef,” the Bravo TV reality cooking show, filmed its 12th season, which aired its finale Wednesday night, in a Woburn warehouse provided by Cummings Properties, the real estate empire owned by Winchester residents Bill and Joyce Cummings, who are also prominent philanthropists. Cummings Properties distributes $327,000 to local nonprofits

nadine edgThanksgiving week, Cummings Properties distributed $327,000 to local nonprofits, a total of $19,000 was given to 11 Merrimack Valley nonprofits, including Methuen’s Nevins Memorial Library and MSPCA at Nevins Farm.

The donations were made in honor of the commercial real estate firm’s full-time staff members, who were each invited to select a charity to receive $1,000 through the Employee Directed Giving program. (More)

FASTSIGNS 20 chairFASTSIGNS moved to 400 West Cummings Park, Suite 1975 in 1994. Twenty years later, business is booming at the same Cummings Properties location – so much so that the sign company doubled its space in October 2014, moving down the hall into 2,592 square feet in Suite 1850.
